Creepy Illustrations of The War of the Worlds, A Novel by H.G Wells
Henrique Alvim Corrêa was an extremely talented Brazilian artist who was unfortunate to have died at a young age of 34 years. However, he did leave some impressive work in shape of creepy illustrations of The War of the Worlds, a novel by H.G Wells. Sadly, merely 500 copies of the Belgian version of the novel contained the artwork.
The novel highlighted the fear of the apocalypse and attempted to capture the Victorian superstition regarding the supernatural. Corrêa seems to have translated the H.G Wells’s script into terrifying illustrations of The War of the Worlds. The horror depicted in the artwork closely mimics the bleak theme portrayed in the writing by H.G Wells.
