Top Ten iPad Games of 2010

Christmas is here and we are just a few days short of a New Year. As the year 2010 packs up for its departure, we decided to bid farewell for what good it has done us with a number of iPad games. It might sound like a kiddish idea to some haters, but oh well, who cares what you think. Jokes aside, Apple has done wonders in this business and while some of the cell phone platformers failed to make a bright name for themselves, the Apple community went leaps and bounds to make its journey of 2010 a success. Having said that, we have prepared a list of 10 best iPad games for you and your fellows.

  • 10. Flight Control HD

Most of the iPhone freaks out there would know this game well by now. Having made a good impression on the iPhone platform, this game made a grand debut on the iPad and came off with flying colors. Flight Control HD puts you in the shoes of an air traffic controller whereby you draw landing paths for airplanes and choppers. Being a casual game, Flight Control HD is recommended to anybody, and I mean ANYBODY, out there who wants to game just for fun. Even if its during the time you plan on taking a leak-It is just a good time killer all the same.

9. Mirror’s Edge

If you had played this game on your Xbox 360 and enjoyed all the running and gliding and attacking ballistics of this lonely girl called Faith, you might be in for more adventure on the Mirror’s Edge launched on the iPad. A game thrown into slow motion adventure, Mirror’s Edge delivers an action packed sequence on the iPad and honestly, there is absolutely no love lost with this game switching platform. The game is still as smooth as before and infact, feels a lot bigger and better on the iPad as if it was made to be iPad’s. Beautiful visuals and splendid gameplay earn this game a must-download tag.

8. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars HD

Rockstars has been on the money this year and a game like GTA Chinatown Wars HD proves just that. Rockstars has continued its surge for bringing its games on all platforms and this one was no exception. Nevertheless, Chinatown Wars HD received a warm welcome on this new platform and it seems that the iPad has been a very good host. With adjusted controls following some drawbacks on the iPhone, GTA Chinatown Wars provides a bigger and better experience with customizable iTunes radio station and easy-to-use controls for the multi-touch interface.

7. Pro Zombie Soccer

On the very mention of such a game, you might wonder, ‘a soccer game with zombies..naah, what nonsense’. But we would like you to think again-Pro Zombie Soccer is a game worth your cash. The game has its own interest arousing story that sucks you into itself to ask for more and a fun-to-try gameplay just adds nicely to the mix. Easy and intuitive controls and realistic artwork simply make this game look a whole lot better. To sum it up, Pro Zombie Soccer is one pretty game that will keep me you involved for long and is definitely one game that you should make yours.

6. Let’s Golf 2

Speaking of sports genre, Let’s Golf proved to be a complete slobber knocker from the moment it hit the Apple store. You do not have to be a golfer to enjoy this game; it just engages you all by itself. The game is full of cute looking golfers but do not underestimate the level of challenge in the game levels. With pool of different modes to choose from, Let’s Golf 2 offers an enjoyable gameplay sequence that focuses on diverse courses but precise and accurate swings and strokes.

5. Infinity Blade

A game with swords and a bit of RPG adventure was just what iPad lovers were waiting for. Now with Infinity Blade released, many of those people would feel that their thirst has been quenched at last. Infinity Blade has proven its worth as a promising RPG title on the iPad and its release has actually paved way for more of such games that will surely attract a humongous gaming audience. Excellent combat skills, compelling storyline and exciting character progression adds to the beauty of this master piece. Truly sublime graphics only just make this game look amazing. Bottom line is that Infinity Blade is a must buy for you hardcore gamers out there.

4. Chaos Rings

Developed by Square Enix, Chaos Rings is one genius of a game. Incredible high resolution visuals coupled with an awesome storyline make the gaming experience 3 times better. Character models have improved and the game runs much more smoothly than it did before on the iPhone versions. More or less, it is an immaculate balance of RPG components and a good action adventure game in a single device. Moreover, the game also features a joystick that gamers would love to use amidst the game play. Having said that, Chaos Rings manages to impress with its launch on the iPad following its success on the iPhone platform. Try it and you will know why.

3. Plants vs. Zombies

Plants vs. Zombies offers an addictive experience as a tower defense game. See yourself take the role of a gardener and plant seeds in strategic positions so as to avoid attacks from zombies that plan on making you their midnight snack. The beauty of this game is that gameplay styles vary so you have a wide variety to choose from. Furthermore, the iPad edition of the game simply allows for stunning graphics and an outstanding game play on the big screen. All in all, If you’ve never played a tower defense game before, this is the one you should really give a go.

2. Modern Combat 2

Gameloft has pulled off a ripper yet again. Modern Combat 2 is not, by any means, another knock-off first person shooter you usually see on cell phones. Instead, it is, arguably, the best first person shooter on the iPad yet. With options like customizable controls and a wide variety of multiplayer options, Modern Combat 2 proves itself as THE shooting game. Solid game play mechanics and well-rendered environments not only make this a fun-filled experience but also add many more hours of play to this game.

1. Asphalt Racing 5

Oh well, Asphalt Racing 5 does have what it takes to make it to our number 1 spot. The game is just simply fun. Tell you what, this is one game that really shows off the iPad’s accelerometer prowess and also offers an equally superior blend of controls and graphic schemes. Racing games do not get any better than this. Frantically tap the screen and you will activate nitrous to launch your car into the air and bank tight turns, conveniently by simply turning your iPad, as if you were driving a car in real time. This is not it; challenge racers online with the help of the multiplayer option available in the game and show off your skills in solo as well as head-to-head racing play modes. Overall,  Asphalt Racing 5 is a well thought out game that delivers the best to all car racing games lovers and definitely makes it worth gamers’ money.
